The American Embassy in Dublin, Ireland, created in 1964, required “exhaustive research and study.”  An updated example of the traditional rotunda, the building had an arcaded exterior with molded, intricate concrete elements - one of the earliest precast structural facades. A 30-foot flower-plated moat provided essential privacy; the only way to access the building was over one of two bridges.
